A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT

The Lord says, "though your life may have seemed like a roller coaster, with mountain peaks and the deepest of valleys, He has given you the Spirit and is cutting through your desert and the wastelands of your life, and bringing you healing, refreshing, and direction towards your destiny where the abundance of waters await you."

As I was asking the Lord for today's Power Prophecy He dropped this phrase in my spirit -"a river runs through it." I was reminded of a 1992 movie with that same title. I won't detail the movie here. I won't even presume to correctly interpret the last words of the narrator. However, I began to think of what this phrase means to me and the quote that "eventually all things merge into one, and a river runs through it."

Looking up a text for this devotion, the Lord took me to Isaiah 43:18-19:

"Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing: now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."

What a perfect text for the 1st day of the year!

Your "new thing" isn't just here, it's springing forth! Open your eyes of understanding and "perceive" that God is making a way, in the midst of your dry place, that will refresh you and carry you to your future!

Life gets a little rocky sometimes but "a river runs through it!" Let the river of God's Spirit "spring up" in you this year! Let that POWER of the living King move you to a fulfilling life, no matter how tough the journey:-)
