Just One Word

Prophetic Word

Here is what I hear the Lord saying to you today . . .

"You only need one word from Me. My Word is powerful, and My Word is eternal. My words are Truth, and they are Life. When I speak, things change. What seems impossible becomes possible. What appears lifeless can live again. What seems immovable must respond to My command.

Do not underestimate the power of just one word from Me. One word can bring clarity to your confusion, peace to your storm, and direction to your steps. Ask Me for just one word. Believe what I speak, stand on what I have said, and watch what I will do!"

Teaching

There's a story in Matthew chapter 8 about a centurion who came to Jesus because his servant was sick. And when Jesus offered to come and heal him, the centurion said, "Only say the word, and my servant will be healed." Jesus marveled at his faith! In fact, He said He hadn't found such great faith in all of Israel!

You see, the centurion understood the authority of Jesus' Word. Jesus didn't have to come to his house. He didn't have to lay hands on the servant. He only had to speak a Word! And when Jesus told the centurion to go, that it would be done for him according to his faith, his servant was healed that very moment!

So why do we sometimes think we need a whole plan when all we really need is a word from the Lord?

Sometimes we're looking for God to give us every detail, every answer, and every step. But when God speaks, His Word is enough! You don't need a thousand answers. You don't need to see the entire plan. You just need one word from the Lord—and the faith to believe what He has said!

Jesus said that His words are spirit and life. And God declares that His Word will not return to Him empty, but it will accomplish what He sent it to do.

There's an old song by Gary Oliver called Just One Word. And that's what's been stirring in my spirit as I've prepared this devotion. It's such a simple but powerful reminder of how desperately we need to hear from God.

So whatever you're facing today, get into His presence. Open His Word. Quiet your heart and listen for His voice. Because God's Word will never fail! And when He speaks, you can stand on what He has said because, like we're told in Isaiah 40:8, "the grass withers, and the flowers fade, but the Word of our God stands forever!"

So, ask God for just one word, and watch what He will do!

Prayer

Father, speak to our hearts today. Open our ears to hear Your voice and strengthen our faith to believe every word You speak. We don't need to know the whole plan, Lord. We just need a word from You.
