YOU ARE FREE

If you are a believer in Christ, you understand that Jesus has set you free. You are free from the law of sin and death. But sometimes we place ourselves back into bondage in various areas of our lives. We may not even realize it has happened.

However, if we reflect honestly, we can probably identify some area of our life that has either yet to experience the fullness of that freedom or has returned to the same bondage from which Christ freed us. That bondage can show up in our minds, emotions, relationships, substance abuse, or whatever weakness to which we may find ourselves attached.

But Jesus came to set us FREE! Not temporarily free. Not so we could return to our own “vomit.” He came to set us eternally free in every area, starting with the heart.

What kind of freedom are we supposed to have in Christ? Obviously, it is not the freedom to continue in sin. Jesus has given us the freedom to live an abundant life. John 10:10 says that Jesus came to give us life “more abundantly” (to the full, till it overflows). This refers not only to eternal life, but also to the life we now live.

He also came to destroy the works of the devil. Jesus has already set us free from whatever Satan brings to bind and enslave us. What we need to understand is that our freedom exists regardless of our circumstances. Whether we feel free or fully understand how to walk in freedom, that freedom is still there.

You have been set FREE!

Scripture says you have been MADE free. Not only has the cage door been opened, but you have also been lifted up by the Master and released into true freedom. You have been released from the cage of death, hell, and the grave.

Whatever has held you bound no longer has the authority to do so.

Don’t fly back into the cage from which you’ve been rescued, whether it’s the cage of sin or the shackles of mediocrity.

Experience the freedom in your wings that Jesus died to give you, and soar like an eagle. Rise above every circumstance. Spread your wings and live out the fullness of your freedom!

Just believe, rise, and take flight!
