MAKING PLANS

The Spirit of the Lord says, “When things don’t go as ‘planned,’ keep your focus! Don’t give up or give in so quickly.”

Sometimes when we make plans, they simply do not go the way we had hoped. There’s a quote from Leonard Snart in The Flash that says, “Make the plan. Execute the plan. Expect the plan to go off the rails. Throw away the plan.”
While our trust is never in human strategy alone, there is wisdom in understanding that life does not always unfold according to our expectations. This is why our confidence must ultimately rest in God and not merely in our own carefully constructed plans.
Holidays, family situations, vacations, jobs, relationships, and many other areas of life often do not turn out the way we anticipated. But we can always trust God and His Word.
Jeremiah 29:11 says: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
You can never go wrong when following God’s plans for your life. It is not always easy to discover His plans, but if you remain in His Word and in prayer, He will begin to reveal them to you.
He said His plans bring peace . . . not distress. His plans bring wholeness . . . not injury. His plans give you hope!
Hope means expectation. If we are expecting a baby, there is anticipation and joy involved. This is the kind of hope and expectation the Lord’s plans bring into our lives.
His plan is for us to have a future—to have an “expected outcome.”
Increase your positive expectations for your future! Let God make the plans. He will bring them to pass!
“A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.”
— Proverbs 16:9
